Your Questions About Casual Watches

Richard asks…

Which watches/brands would you suggest?

I would like to buy a nice men’s watch. My budget is around 300-400. It’s a more casual watch going to be worn with dress shirts and jeans but I don’t mind wearing a sports watch. I’m looking for more of a thicker/bigger watch. Thanks for any suggestions!

Donna asks…

What kind of watch is this? Dress or Casual?

Does this watch seems like a dress watch or a casual watch?

http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=357657&CategoryID=29484

admin answers:

I think its both. You can dress it down by wearing casual things like jeans, etc. Or you could just pair it with something formal and it would still look good.
It all depends on what you wear with it. So it’s pretty versatile.
Watches are meant to be this way anyways. (:

Tiffany & Co and Cartier both have amazing watches that are not quite as pricey as Rolex (for the most part)

Michael asks…

What is a good contrast ratio for a casual use computer monitor? Watching videos, browsing internet, etc…?

I’m in the market for a good computer monitor. I’m looking at 19″ monitors in the $150-180 price range. I have my eyes on a few, but this contrast ratio thing has me stumped. Obviously I want a high contrast ratio, but I don’t want it to be unnecessarily high.

What sort of ratio should be sufficient?

admin answers:

1000:1 to 3000:1 should be fine and looks nice.

John asks…

What is the appropriate business casual attire(for ladies) to wear for musical stage plays?

I am about to watch one of the most popular stage shows, “The Phantom of the Opera” at The Venetian on Las Vegas Strip. I’ve watched other stage plays before but this one seems more special. The dress code is business casual. I wonder what do most people wear in an event like this one. I need more specific answers to my question.

admin answers:

The main thing is to look well-pulled together — not a full power suit or evening dress, but not jeans, either — and be comfortable.

I’d say a jacket, blouse, and skirt would be fine or nice pants. Even a nice sweater that’s not too loud (No big reindeer), and nothing overly frilly or shiny.

“Business casual” would be what you might wear to a relaxed business event — an informal cocktail get-together, say.

More specific? From the second link:

Specifics for women’s business casual

Don’t confuse club attire with business attire. If you would wear it to a club, you probably shouldn’t wear it in a business environment. Also, most attire worn on televison is not appropriate for business environments. Don’t be deluded.
Pants / skirts:
Women can wear casual pants or skirts. Neither should be tight. Fabrics should be crisp; colors should generally be solid; navy, black, gray, brown and khaki are always safe bets. For the most business-like appearance, pants should be creased and tailored; neither extreme of tight or flowing. If you are pursuing a conservative industry and are in doubt, observe well-dressed women in your industry on the job, at career fairs, at information sessions, etc.

Skirt length and slits:
Your skirt should come at least to your knees while you are standing. While you are seated, your thighs should be covered. If your skirt comes to just below the knee, a slit to just above the knee might be acceptable. A very long skirt should not be slit to above the knee. Generally slits in the center back of a skirt — to facilitate walking a stair climbing — are acceptable. Slits to facilitate a view of your legs are not appropriate for business purposes. Slips should not be visible.

Shirt / sweaters:
In addition to tailored shirts or blouses, tailored knit sweaters and sweater sets are appropriate business casual choices for women. Cotton, silk, and blends are appropriate. Velvets and shimmery fabrics suitable for parties are not appropriate. Fit should not be tight. Cleavage is not appropriate to business and job search occasions.

Jewelry / accessories:
Wear a conservative watch. Jewelry and scarf styles come and go. Keep your choices simple and leaning toward conservative. Avoid extremes of style and color. If your industry is creative, you may have more flexibility than someone pursuing a conservative industry.

Cosmetics:
Keep makeup conservative and natural looking. A little is usually better than none for a polished look. Nails should be clean and well groomed. Avoid extremes of nail length and polish color, especially in conservative industries.

Shoes:
Should be leather or fabric / microfiber. Appropriate colors are black, navy and brown (to coordinate with your other attire and accessories); white and pastels are not appropriate. For the most conservative look, toes should be covered. Sandals which are neither extremely dressy or extremely casual might be appropriate. Thin straps and high heels are not appropriate. Chunky heels and platforms are not apropriate. Make certain you can walk comfortably in your shoes; hobbling around a job fair in shoes that are pinching your feet does not convey a professional image.

Hose:
Not essential for business casual, but are recommended if your skirt is knee length (rather than calf length) and in more formal environments such as hotels.

Purse / bag:
If you carry a purse, keep it small and simple, or carry a small briefcase or business-like tote bag in place of a purse. A structured bag tends to look more professional that something soft or floppy. Purse/bag color should coordinate with your shoes. A briefcase is certainly not necessary for most business casual events. Leather, microfiber and fine wovens are appropriate. Canvas and straw are not appropriate.

Your Questions About Sport Watches For Men

Donald asks…

Am I just being a nagging gf?

My bf and I both use to party a lot. Though he was A LOT worse than me, once I calmed down and I guess got more mature, I’m glad that he ultimately did too. I still hang with my friends casually and club with them maybe once every 2 months or whatever but other than that we just enjoy quiet dinners out or the movies; stuff like that. Over the last few months he really separated himself from his partying friends saying he has better things he wants to do with his life. This is awesome to hear and though I still think its healthy to have at least one fun night with friends every once and a while he’s been hanging out at this bar a lot recently. Like at least 4 days a week after work he goes straight there until at least 11p.m or later. We’ve been together 3 years and I know for a fact he doesn’t drink. He says he’s just hanging out with his friends watching sports or playing games and I know he definately doesn’t like texting too much when its ‘guy time’. This is cool but when you’re doing this 4 or 5 days a week and if we’re both busy in the daytime when are we suppose to talk? the 30 mins it takes him to get ready for work? He took me once but being the only girl in a room full of sports watching men is kinda like being alone. He also dj’s and saying the bar lets him play music and are talking about offering him a part time gig there but…………..honestly should I be bothered that he’s spending 80% of his free time at this bar or happy that at least he’s getting time with friends like he use to?

admin answers:

Not nagging. Just concerned!

What do you think of this watch on a 16 year old guy?

Yeah I was just wondering if some other random people on the internet thought I should buy this watch too. By the way I’m a 16 year old guy. I’m aware that this watch is kind of…dressy? But I do dress up fairly often, and yeaaah. So just tell me your ideas…yes? no?

Charles asks…

Is it really sexist to rather watch sports being played by one sex than the other?

I’ve seen a number of people before, here and otherwise, make statements along the lines of saying that people are sexist against women’s sports because they’re not watched as much as men‘s sports are. I won’t argue that there is a sexist attitude that many people have against women’s sports that is rarely seen in men‘s sports (maybe an exception in gymnastics), but I wonder if it’s really sexist to say you’d rather watch a sport being played by one sex over the other.

One sport I watch is basketball. It’s a sport that both men and women play, and unlike many, you can actually see women play it on TV. I’ve watched women’s basketball and have been entertained by it before. However, given the choice, I’d rather watch men‘s basketball. Men‘s basketball is faster-paced and there’s more action in the paint than in women’s basketball. Is it really sexist for me to rather watch men‘s basketball then?

If you say I’m sexist for that think about this one for a minute. I actually know someone who said they’d rather watch women’s basketball than men‘s because they don’t like that men‘s basketball is so much about dunking and 3-pointers. If I’m sexist, isn’t this person sexist too?

admin answers:

I don’t think it’s sexist unless the reason you aren’t watching it is because you think women shouldn’t or can’t play sports. If it’s just a preference, whatever. I listen to rock, not whats on the radio though, and I prefer male vocals… All girls could playing the music, whatever. There are some exceptions of course, depending on the band, but generally. To each his/her own. I’m not going to listen to something I don’t want to listen to, so I wouldn’t expect you to watch something you don’t care to watch.

Many times I believe we like to subconsciously put ourselves in place of what we see (doesn’t explain me, but it does you). It’s probably one of the reasons girls aren’t into sports so much. I dont know.

Mark asks…

Just watched a thilling ten minutes of the great sport of poker on ESPN2. Wow, what incredible athletes.?

Do, or better yet, CAN anyone watch men playing cards on TV for more than ten minutes without falling into a coma?

admin answers:

Poker may be a game, but it sure as hell isn’t a sport.

Poker is like doing drugs, or drinking alcohol, they are all an activity that is habit forming.

They even have GA (Gamblers Anonymous) now, just like NA (Narcotics Anonymous), ans AA (Alcoholics Anonymous). All for people with addictive personalities.

I wouldn’t waste my time watching anybody playing poker, dice, or even Bingo. Tenis, golf, and ping pong also fall into the same catagory.

Your Questions About Dress Watches Women

David asks…

Should women who dress in slutty clothes, deserve a good beating?

Ok so i have a school project (i didnt pick it!) on women and why they dress the way they do. I was thinking if women who wear slutty clothes, should get a beating (not too harsh, but good enough to make her smarten up). I thought of this because my little sister (she’s 7) saw woman dress inapropriatley on tv and she wants to dress like them too. And in addition she see’s women like these everywhere outside the house. Isnt this wrong?? Shouldn’t women be liked for who they are?
So anyways shoudn’t women cover up? And shouldn’t those women who dress in slutty ways get a beating (again not too harsh). Since many women today are role models for young girls, like my sister, shouldnt they think of the kids who watch them?

admin answers:

I find this question extremely horrifying.. Either you are an utter and complete moron or you are an utter and complete moron… Should women get a beating for wearing slutty clothes?? HAVE YOU GONE OUT OF YOUR MINDD?!?!?!

A woman should never be hit for any particular reason.. Regardless of the intensity of the abuse, no woman or ANY HUMAN BEING, for that matter, should ever be exposed to violence, it is barbaric and immoral, violence only makes things worse.

I agree that most women today do dress quite provocatively, and yes, they should think twice before stepping out of the house dressed like that since little children may want to immitate them or men may try to rape them.. In general wearing slutty clothing can attract negative attention, however, you should ALWAYS keep in mind that it is their own personal choice and right to dress the way they feel as long as it does not violate social norms.. So.. NO.. Women should not be hurt physically or emotionally for their preferences regarding clothes.

And remember, at the end of the day it is our job as a sibling or a caregiver to reming the children of what is right and wrong, and if you can do a good job at convincing your little sister why it’s not appropriate to dress like that then you’ll have no problem… Because i dont know how much of a good role model you willl be to your sister if she percieves you as a woman-beater.

Paul asks…

Around the late 90s there was a porn movie i watched that had mystical women in ?

Joseph asks…

do you realize that muslim women across the world believe that western women are told to dress in clothes that?

TITILLATE MEN and are forced to pose naked in magazines and porn films by their husbands, look at it from their point of view, who would have sex being watched let alone being filmed,no one unless forced to

admin answers:

Muslim women are dumb bc they live in the 15 century and allow there husbands to walk all over them so who gives a rats ass about what they fing think.?

Linda asks…

Do women get intimidated by men who dress well and take pride in there job.?

When I step out to go to the bars I like to look my best nice clothes a wrist and neck chain and a diamond watch. I am not sure If I am over doing it or not. But a lot of girls think that I am some kind of a player and that I am only looking to get laid.

admin answers:

If you are not comfortable in looking the way you do change,if you are leave it alone.
I think men who take pride in the way they look is a turn on.

Thomas asks…

Why do other girls hate it when seeing girls that dress sexy/slutty?

does it matter to you? why do you get so concern? or is it a jealousy thing?

btw.. im a guy and i love watching women/girls wear sexy clothes.. i don’t stalk/creep..etc. but its nice to see women dress sexy when doing shopping or other things on the streets isn’t it?

admin answers:

I personally think it’s degrading to women to be viewed as a sex object for men to guake at. A woman can look great with clothes ON. Sometimes MORE. Women simply need to have more respect for themselves. If they did, think of how different the world would be! By the way, would you mind if there were a bunch of good looking guys walking around the mall in underwear with their muscles coming out all over, and your girlfriend was loving it?

Your Questions About Casual Watches Brands

Paul asks…

Is this a good way to shop for different types of clothes?

Now I do not follow this all the time but usually when I shop for clothes I look for certain brands for certain types of clothing. Like if I want to buy a polo I would go to Ralph Lauren or Lacoste first and if I wand a button up I would go to Express and CK first.

Tops
Button up shirt: Express, Calvin Klien, Gap, H&M, J. Crew,
Polo: Ralph Lauren, Lacoste
Tee: Abercrombie and Fitch, Armani Exchange, Guess, Hollister
Sweater: Gap, Banana Republic, Ralph Lauren

Bottoms
Jeans: Guess, Abercrombie and Fitch
Khaki: Gap
Shorts: Abercrombie and Fitch

Feet
Casual Shoes: Puma, Nike, Converse
Sandals: Abercrombie and Fitch, Hollister

Accessories:
Watches: Guess, Fossil, Calvin Klien
Sunglasses: Guess, AX
Wallet: Calvin Klien, Guess
Belt: Hollister, Guess, Calvin Klien,

Formal Wear: Calivn Klien, J. Crew etc
wait so which brands are crappy? Be specific please. Does Armani Exhange suck? Calvin Klien? Ralph Lauren? Lacoste? Gap? Guess? which ones please.

admin answers:

Uggh, you have too many crappy brands on your list (I see you’ve noted Abercrombie and Fitch and Hollister several times…)

If you want really good clothes, my favorite brands are:

Button Ups
——————-
Express–No competition

Denim
———–
Diesel, Joe’s Jeans (I prefer Diesel though)

Polo Shirts
—————-
J-Crew and Banana Republic (Diesel as well)

T-shirts and Casuals
——————————-
Diesel

Diesel wins my vote for the best all around. Great Jeans, shirts and even shoes. Jewelry like watches and glasses are nice too.

Stop shopping at Hollister and Abercrombie, those stores are for 10 year olds who think they look cool.

Donald asks…

Why do TNA Fans and WWE Fans hate eachother?

Here I will refer to Professional Wrestling as a Sport- if you have a problem with that I suggest you leave. I entitle this video as one which is speaking to any and all fans- the hardcore or the casual- I am sick of the Internet Professional Wrestling Fan today. I challenge you for just a moment step back from your preference being a fan of TNA or WWE and realize that we are all fans of Professional Wrestling. Imagine this, Wrestling covering the week on primtime- Monday night Raw, Tuesday ECW, Thursday iMpact, Friday SmackDown! and PPV on Sunday. On CBS, ABC, NBC, taking timeslots of the NFL, American idol, anything you name. Instead Professional Wrestling is stuck on Sci Fi, Spike and USA. Basic cable reaches 85 % of the US, meaning only SmackDown has the ability to be seen by the largest amount of people, meanwhile the rest are seen at most by 60 %. We’re missing a large part of the US alone simply because everytime wrestling spikes in popularity, it goes and kills itself again. For those people that say the Monday Night Wars were the best thing for Professional Wrestling, while it certainly contributed to what you see now, Now 6 years after the fall of WCW, professional wrestling is less popular today than it was 6 years before WCW began.

When Wrestling Spiked in popularity, everyone chose a side and decided to destroy the other. Bischoff publicly called out WWE, WWE invaded WCW shows. In retrospect, WCW made the mistake of going head to head, people couldn’t enjoy both brands, they had to choose- and while the two brands killed each other, when WCW fell, so did their audience. Imagine WCW on Tuesday, two straight days of wrestling. In the fall NFL is on most weekdays, Professional Wrestling was on one day. Instead of growing outwards, professional wrestling kicked itself in the butt and shot itself in the foot.

I don’t want that to happen today- I love WWE, I love TNA. Both have their faults, but I’m going look at the positives. I don’t ever want WWE to buy TNA. I want WWE to continue to grow and improve its own brands. I don’t want TNA to move to Monday Nights. I want TNA to get rid of Spike when it gets big enough and go to a better network that reaches a larger audience. Imagine TNA and WWE working together. Imagine WWE, at the end of their show, saying, “be sure to check out Total Non-Stop Action on Spike TV at 9!” Instead of hurting professional wrestling, encouraging the audience to grow, encouraging the audience not to just watch WWE, but PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING. All successful sports do it- NFL, NBA, NHL. I don’t remember the Broncos playing the Chiefs and wanting to beat them so badly they wanted to put them out of business. They realize that (1.) competition is good and (2.) by encouraging their competition, their competition encourages them.

Getting wrestling on primetime is the first step is making Professional Wrestling the premiere sport today. Am I crazy? In 1997 Wall Street was so concerned because the NFL WAS LOSING MONEY TO PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING they took out an ad in the New York Times- “Don’t Wrestle with your advertising Dollars this season”- Professional Wrestling had the NFL thinking they had some problems. Nearly 10 years later, professional wrestling is lucky to have a no-name NFL player come to a show- then they become the biggest thing there. The NFl should want WWE and TNA guys there in the stadiums.

admin answers:

Excellent argument. As a fan of both TNA and WWE I feel I benefit the most because I get to watch wrestling 4 days a week, yet I go on here and read about WWE fan boys claiming that TNA sucks while I bet most of them have never even seen an episode. I try to watch as much wrestling as I can, I even buy DVDs on a regular basis from indy feds like ROH, FIP, and CZW (ROH is by far the best wrestling federation out there today) one thing I don’t agree with is that you want wrestling to rise in popularity because there is a problem with that, and that is the wrestling feds don’t know how to attract a larger audience. Case in point is Kevin Federline, It was WWE writer Brian Gerwitz idea to get him to play a mini feud with John Cena in order to gain some mainstream appeal, yet all it did was ostracize actual wrestling fans, I agree that wrestling is great the story lines and superstars have such great potential, however the product delivered from the WWE has been trying its hardest to appeal to larger audiences while straying from actual wrestling. They need to find a way to get a larger audience yet still have 2 hours of wrestling rather than 1 hour and thirty minutes of skits and promos, 20 minutes of mediocre wrestling spread out between 4 matches, and 8 minutes of a decent main event. That is not recipie for success, and neither is having a rosie vs donald skit take up 20 minutes of air time and then send a press release to every news station hoping that raw becomes the water cooler talk when it actually just becomes a reason for fans to switch off.

You also mention that smackdown has the capability to reach the largest audience, yet it only gets an average rating of 2.7 a week.

And I’m adding a little more to this since the first responder to your question Jeff made an idiotic statement, the only 40 or 50 year old has-been on TNA that I know of is Scott Steiner, big poppa pump sure he may be a has been, but he’s the only one, everyone else on the roster serves a purpose, and as for saying the rest of their roster wouldn’t make it onto the WWE, you’re dead wrong, AJ Styles, Senshi, Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels, Paul London, CM Punk, and Jay Lethal, while they were all in Ring of Honor they were the men who vince himself said “Hire at any means necisarry” He only go London and Punk onto his roster because the other wrestlers preferred TNA’s style. Don’t bad mouth a company if you know absolutely nothing about the wrestling buisness.
