admin answers:
Wow! You sure do live in a thieving neighborhood! I am having a rummage/garage sale coming up soon and this a easily answered question. I wear an apron with 2 pockets at the waist and one at the chest. You look like the person in charge so it works that way too. People notice you right away. Aprons are perfect for change/ and bills. Start out with 20$ in change and bills. When you get a break, take any money beyond that in the house. If you are using price stickers with initials on them, keep these in your upper apron pocket. You can stick these on pieces of cardboard cut-out to fit your pocket. Then, later you can record the take in a notebook and have the stickers to back it up. If you need a break just give the apron to your sister and everything is there!

Betty asks…
Do you agree that every holiday is being pushed as spending orgy day? Then boycott all but essential spending.
I hope you have the will power to resist the retailers hyping every holiday, even sacred and somber days like Christmas and Memorial day, as a day to empty your pockets and rack up your charge cards. Saving is sweet—-I know I have practiced it; and I have fun when I spend. But I am not a sucker like many of you and fall for this sale and that sale. After all, how many pairs of shoes or watches or pieces of jewelry do you need.
If non-essential spending gives you a high and you are maxing out on your debt or your saving is not at least 15% of your pay, you have a sickness. Find a cure, quick!

I agree 110% with your assessment. This orgy on credit/debt is going to lead to an economic collapse of epic proportions. Should I buy a PSP or a Portable DVD player?
I love to watch movies and I would like to watch them on the go. The question is, with what? I’ve heard the PSP can play movies on it but the screen looks a little small for me and I’m not sure if I want t re-buy all of my movies on UMD format. But hey, it fits in my pocket! I’ve also seen some really good portable DVD players for sale, but they require a carrying bag and headphones (and so does the PSP). But, then again, I don’t have to re-buy my movies in order to watch them. No reaching in my pocket convenience, though. So, what should I do?
admin answers:
Overall, I’m leaning towards the PSP.
If you decide on the PSP, forget about buying movies on UMD. There’s no point, and even the studios have abandoned the format.
You can rip and convert your DVDs to a video format that the PSP can handle. There’s free software available that automates this process.
The PSP can also play music files (MP3, WMV) Again, there’s free software to automate this procedure.
The PSP can also play games if that’s of any interest to you. You can either buy them on UMD, or download them from the Sony store online.
Finally the PSP can go online, via wifi. It has a web browser but it’s not very easy to use.
Sony is releasing a new version of the PSP in September called the PSP-Go. This model is mostly the same the as the current PSP but is a bit smaller, and uses a slide-screen to reveal the controls. I don’t recommend it very much for playing games but if you’re looking primarily for a media player, it may be worth checking into.

Susan asks…
How do I fight my own [shoplifting] case in court or should I not?
I’m looking for someone to advise me on what to do with my situation, I got accused of shoplifting at a dollar general store.
I know people are asking what to do and saying they’re innocent all the time so whether you believe me, or not I still need help. This is the actual police report, witness statement or complaint.
I’m only going to use the first name, so I don’t get into more trouble…
Police spoke with complainant chad. Chad is an employee of the Dollar General Store. Chad explained that he
observed the defendant in an isle, where the glue (just a brand changed) is displayed for sale.
Chad informed your affiant that he watched the defendant fumble with a container of glue. Chad stated that he observed
the defendant lay the glue carton on the shelf. Chad stated that he followed the defendant to the front
of the store where the defendant exited the store. Chad stated went to his vehicle and retrieved his wallet. Chad stated when the defendant
re-entered the store he confronted him about the glue. Chad advised, that the defendant stated to him that he did not take any glue and
said “look I will show you”. Chad stated the defendant hurried through the isle to where the glue was. Chad stated the defendant
picked up the empty glue carton, removed the glue from his pocket, and quickly slipped the glue back into the carton. Chad stated he was
only a few steps away from the defendant when all of this occurred. Chad stated the defendant ripped the carton when removing and replacing the glue. Chad indicated the value of the glue was $4.75
Now those are the facts, and I say facts with hesitation. I went to get my wallet cause I was going to buy some air fresheners
this all happened on a Friday. I was killing some time about to get my girlfriend and go to a mall, right next to the mall was a
wal-mart where my mom works and I could stop by my house and get my mom’s discount card, and buy the same glue for $2.00 Ill admit
I did not put the glue back where it was, I laid it on the shelf below it. Another thing, this store is full of camera’s yet I wasn’t
on any of them, on that note Chad doesn’t even say he seen me put the glue in my pocket, he just says I fumbled with the carton.
I would very much like a lawyer to shed some light on this please. I applied for a public defender but because I have a full time
job I’m not eligible, I would like to pay for a lawyer but its $700+ dollars and with student loans It would end up being more in late fees then it would to pay for a lawyer.
I forgot to mention, and I know this is a big deal, this is my 2nd offense. Now I know this next part is 100% irrelevant, but my 1st offense I plead guilty, I got charged for stealing a show shovel I was a bad bad bad very bad joke gone wrong which I now know it’s going to mess everything up.
Just wanted to add this the charge is..
offense # 1 section: 3929, subsection A1 OF THE PA statute (title) 18 counts 1 grade M2
admin answers:
Get a lawyer. You don’t need Johnny Cochran. Any lawyer you can afford will do.
It sounds like a pretty weak case. If Chad didn’t confront you till you came back to the store, then it’s hard to demonstrate intent to steal. In some jurisdictions this is necessary for a conviction.
Above all, DO NOT POST ANY MORE INFORMATION ON THE INTERNET!
Have you ever heard the expression, “anything you say can and will be used against you”?
Also Chad sounds like a jerk.

Mary asks…
Can I be arrested or sued for this?
So I was helping a friend with a charity sale the other day and had a pocket full of markers and stick on price tags. After helping her organize and tag items I went to the supermarket for a few things and on the bulletin board saw 3-4 signs advertising pups for sale of a particularly odious mix. So I whipped out the marker and wrote “Mutts- don’t buy” and “Adopt mutts- don’t buy them” and “Backyard breeder- watch for SCAM” and the like- all over their posters.
Now I of course didn’t leave my name or phone number, but if someone had seen me do this, could they have reported me? What would be the exact crime I committed- after all, I could have torn down the posters and thrown them away. I could have taken down the phone number and spammed the hell out of the BYB. I chose to try to educate, instead. Did I do the right or wrong thing, here?
What would you/have you done?
I am an eleven-year volunteer at a local no-kill shelter, a registered foster home, and have already had 25 cats and kittens thru my house since the FALL!!! And the dogs (‘designers’ too) are coming out of our ears at the shelter. I have 0 tolerance for BYBs.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: The BYB was advertising both (God- I HATE these cutesy names) “Puggles” and “No-Shed Goldendoodles” The pups are NOT for adoption- they are for sale for $1000′s

It may be more beneficial to put up an informational poster of your own with definitions of puppy mills, backyard breeders, and reputable/responsible/ethical breeders. An explanation of where pet store pups come from would help. Also include links to additional information.
