Antique shops in Denver where I can hunt for pocket watches and/or skeleton keys?
Are they any you recommend, if you are in the Denver/Aurora area? I’m into antique things like those mentioned in the title, and I want to buy myself a pocket watch for my birthday, I love them. Antique hunting sounds fun. So, are there any shops you’d recommend?
Also, the type of pocket watches I’m specifically looking for are skeleton pocket watches, the ones that let you see the gears inside.

Besides the ones on Broadway that Marci mentioned, there is a huge antique shop off I70 and Ward road called the Brass Armadillo, I have been there a few times but it was years ago, so I’m not sure if they carry what you are looking for, but its huge. Good Luck!

Ken asks…
Does anyone know anything about antique pocket watches?
I have a pocket watch that was given to me that I cannot identify. It is an antique etched pocket watch with a shaded area surrounding the bold numbers. At the bottom of the time-piece, the second hand dial is covering the 6 completely and chopping off a piece of the 5 and 7. The back of the watch is worn, but has an engraving of lines and a pattern that looks sort of like a mirror. There is no writing on the watch other than the numbers. Could someone please let me know a little about this watch!!!! Thanks!
I’ve just noticed the name of the watch being an Illinois brand, if that helps.

Railway Timekeeper Pocket watches. Does anyone know the origins of these watched, please?
My husband would like to know if anyone knows the origins of the Railway Timekeep pocket watched, believed to be introduced by the News of the World newspaper to sell to railway travellers. The mechanisms were usually cheaply made and did not have jewelled movements. The two he has were made in Switzerland but have no makers name in them. These type of pocket watches were made by several different manufacturers.
A little history about them would be good, if anyone has any information about them, please reply. Thank you.

where do i find out about old pocket watches?
i have a small pocket watch that was my grandparents and i am trying to find some information about it, like age and is it worth having it restored.

If you live in a good sized town or city, you can look up the local watch/clock repair shop & try to find one that has been in business for a LONG time.
It helps to have INFORMATION such as the manufacturer & if it has a serial number(?)
have the info on-hand & make a few phone calls….
Good Luck
